Design Engineer

Job Description

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our team. The Design Engineer will be responsible for developing technical drawings, designing control panels, selecting automation components, and supporting the engineering team in delivering end-to-end automation solutions. This role plays a key part in translating project requirements into functional and cost-effective design solutions. Key Responsibilities: Select appropriate components such as PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, actuators, and industrial communication modules. Collaborate with project managers and sales engineers to understand customer requirements and project scope. Support commissioning and troubleshooting activities during installation phases. Maintain project documentation and ensure version control throughout the design lifecycle. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for design efficiency and product standardization. Responsible for design and detailing of components and systems for "Made in India" machines used for industrial production. Responsible for getting design concepts, evaluated through soft and experimental validations. Understand requirements, create design concepts, perform design calculations and create 3D CAD Models, 2D detailed drawings and layout drawings. Responsible for creating relevant technical documentation and service/ maintenance standard. Performs task with care is through and checks work to ensure accuracy and completeness. Ensure customer satisfaction through direct contact/ personal calls, feedback forms in collaboration with Marketing Departments. Stays focused on results in spite of distractions, interruptions and competing demands. Maintains up to date proficiency with the use of development software (E.g.- Solid works, E- Plan and P&ID etc.) Assist in design reviews to identify the Non Conformance of CE, UL, IEC, NEMA and SIL. Come with ideas to correct them before design freezing. Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 2 - 6 years of experience in industrial automation or design engineering. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or SolidWorks Electrical. Understanding of electrical protection systems, cable sizing, and panel design standards.
