Design Engineer

Dear Candidate,

We are looking for Design Engineers for our client in Bangalore

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Development:

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for telecom equipment, focusing on sheet metal, Plastic and die-cast parts.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for cost-effective production.

• Prototyping & Testing:

• Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts, with a focus on sheet metal and die-cast components.
• Perform mechanical testing and analysis to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Address any design issues that arise during the testing phase and implement necessary modifications.

• Manufacturing Support:

• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production.
• Provide technical support during tooling development and production ramp-up, particularly for sheet metal stamping and die casting processes.
• Review and approve tooling designs, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.

• Collaboration & Communication:

• Collaborate with electrical engineers, product managers, and quality assurance teams to ensure that mechanical designs integrate seamlessly with other components.
• Communicate design concepts, progress, and challenges effectively to stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, BOMs, and technical reports.

• Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for design improvements, cost reductions, and process optimizations, particularly in the areas of sheet metal and die casting.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in mechanical design and telecom equipment.

Qualifications:

• Education:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• Experience:

• 2-5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on telecom equipment.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal design, Plastic, die casting, and related manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for creating detailed models and drawings.
• Experience with tolerance analysis, material selection, and cost optimization.
