Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level Design Engineer with hands-on expertise in heavy mechanical systems, structural fabrication, plant layouts, and industrial thermal equipment such as furnaces. The role involves independent design execution, cross-functional coordination, and active contribution to New Product Development (NPD), ensuring manufacturable, cost-effective, and reliable designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently design heavy mechanical systems including structural frames, mechanisms, and furnace-related equipment
  • Develop and review detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for fabrication, assembly, and installation
  • Plan and optimize plant layouts, piping routes, and system integration for hydraulic, pneumatic, and combustion systems
  • Create, review, and control detailed BOMs in MS Excel for production and procurement
  • Prepare and review GADs, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, sheet metal drawings, and nesting details
  • Validate design feasibility through discussions with fabrication, production, and service teams
  • Participate actively in New Product Development (NPD), including concept development, costing, and optimization
  • Conduct design reviews, identify potential issues, and propose corrective or improvement actions
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems in existing systems and perform root cause analysis
  • Ensure designs comply with internal standards, safety norms, and quality requirements
  • Maintain structured design documentation, change history, and revision control

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong hands-on experience in mechanical design and structural fabrication
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and detailed manufacturing drawings
  • Good working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and combustion systems
  • Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and material selection
  • Ability to evaluate cost, optimize designs, and reduce fabrication complexity
  • Effective communication with cross-functional teams, vendors, and clients
  • Ownership-driven, problem-solving, and execution-focused mindset

Experience & Qualification

  • BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering or relevant filed.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in heavy engineering.
