Concept & Detail Design:

Develop BIW components and assemblies in
Siemens UG/NX
(3D models, detailed drawings).
Own subsystem packaging, interfaces, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and DFM/DFA.

Structures & Joints:

Design stamped parts, welded assemblies, spot-weld patterns, hemming, adhesive bonding, and joining strategies (MIG/TIG, SPR, laser, clinching).
Optimize flange widths, reliefs, draw directions, and springback risks in collaboration with manufacturing.

Standards & Requirements:

Apply OEM standards, crash/safety, NVH, durability, and corrosion protection requirements in BIW design.
Ensure compliance to
global regulations
(fit, finish, pedestrian safety, repairability).

Collaboration & Integration:

Work closely with
CAE
to iterate designs based on simulation (stiffness, crash, fatigue).
Coordinate with
tooling, stamping, welding
for manufacturability and cost optimization.
Interface with
supplier development
and
quality
for PPAP/APQP deliverables as needed.
