Role Summary

Role & responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Design packing solutions for

  wooden, metal, plastic, and corrugated packaging

  using

  SolidWorks

  .
• Develop 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and BOMs for packing materials and products.
  
• Design export-worthy packing as per

  customer specifications

  , transport mode, and handling conditions.
• Ensure packing designs meet

  safety, strength, and load-bearing requirements

  .

Material Knowledge & Optimization

• Select appropriate packing materials based on product weight, dimensions, fragility, and destination.
  
• Optimize designs for

  cost reduction

  , material efficiency, and ease of packing.
• Ensure compliance with

  ISPM-15

  , export standards, and customer quality norms.

Coordination & Support

• Coordinate with

  production, packing, procurement, and quality teams

  for design execution.
• Provide technical support during

  packing trials and execution on site

  .
• Modify designs based on site feedback, customer changes, or process improvements.
  

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain

  design drawings, revisions, BOMs, and technical documents

  .
• Maintain records of approved designs and customer-specific packing standards.
  
• Support audits and customer inspections related to packing design.
  

Continuous Improvement

• Suggest improvements in packing methods, materials, and standardization.
  
• Develop standard packing designs for recurring products.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education:

  Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• Experience:

  24 years in packing design or related manufacturing domain.

• Software Skills:

• Strong proficiency in

  SolidWorks

  (mandatory).
• Experience in part modeling, assemblies, drawings, and revisions.
  

• Technical Knowledge:

• Wooden, metal, plastic, and corrugated packing materials.
  
• Export packing standards and handling requirements.
  

• Other Skills:

• Good communication and coordination skills.
  
• Ability to work closely with site teams.
  
• Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
  

Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)

• Experience in

  heavy equipment / industrial packing

  .
• Exposure to

  railway, power, or export-oriented projects

  .
• Basic understanding of logistics and transportation constraints.
  

Preferred candidate profile

• Exposure to customer-specific packing standards
• Diploma / BE / B.Tech in

  Mechanical Engineering / Packaging Technology / Industrial Engineering

  or equivalent
