Job Summary:

Senior Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Create 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks with in-depth command over

  sheet metal design

  .
• Lead and execute

  New Product Development (NPD)

  projects from concept to production.
• Design and develop assemblies and components for

  OEM products

  ,

  sheet metal enclosures

  , and

  fabricated structures

  .
• Develop layouts, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Work on

  Special Purpose Machines (SPM)

  , including conceptualization, prototyping, and design validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and quality for smooth execution of projects.
• Conduct design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve design effectiveness and efficiency.
• Ensure design compliance with industry norms, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, and testing stages.

Key Skills & Requirements:

• Proficient in

  SolidWorks

  (2017 onwards) complete command over part modeling, assembly, drafting, sheet metal, weldments, and simulation tools.
• Hands-on experience in

  2D drafting

  and

  3D modeling

  for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Sound understanding of

  mechanical design principles

  , tolerances, materials, and fabrication techniques.
• Experience in working with

  OEMs

  ,

  sheet metal products

  ,

  fabrication

  , and

  SPM manufacturing

  .
• Familiarity with

  GD&T

  , welding standards, and mechanical standards.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Strong project ownership with the ability to manage multiple design tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in the

  OEM, fabrication, or SPM sectors

  .
• Exposure to ERP systems, PDM tools, or engineering change management processes.
