Design Engineer - Civil & Structural

As a Structural Design Engineer for our client in Chennai, your responsibilities will include: - Hands-on experience in designing RCC structures & Steel structures in Staad Pro V8i. - Independently preparing structural design reports & drawings based on architectural layouts. - Checking the capacity of base plate & other Structural Steel connections. - Strong skills in checking RCC & Steel Detailing/BBS & MTO. - Designing foundations using MS Excel spreadsheets. - Good knowledge of Design Codes like ACI-318, BS8110 & IS456. - Proficient in MS Excel formulas & manual calculations when required. - Understanding client requirements & preparing design reports with minimal supervision. - Checking drawings for design intent & marking up corrections. - Allocating, planning & monitoring work given to the drafting team to ensure project schedules are met. - Proficiency in AutoCAD to prepare basic layouts & General Arrangement/Detailing Drawings. - Possessing good communication skills, being a team player, and able to work with minimal supervision. Qualifications required for this role include: - 5 to 10 years of experience in structural design. - Strong background in RCC and Steel structure design. - Proficiency in Staad Pro V8i, MS Excel, AutoCAD. - Good knowledge of Design Codes such as ACI-318, BS8110 & IS456. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
