Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop custom hot runner solutions, including manifolds, nozzles, gates, and related components for injection molds.
• Create accurate 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Perform thermal and flow simulations to ensure uniform melt flow, temperature balance, and efficient part filling.
• Collaborate with mold designers, tooling engineers, and project managers to integrate hot runner systems into complete mold designs.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Apply engineering standards, tolerances, and materials knowledge to ensure reliable and cost-effective designs.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure design manufacturability and resolve production issues.
• Participate in design reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support customer engineering teams with technical guidance and customization as needed.
• Keep up to date with industry trends, materials, and new technologies in hot runner and mold design.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in hot runner design or injection mold design (or tooling industry).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of plastic flow behavior, thermal expansion, and mold component interaction.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and engineering standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
