This position oversees the architectural and structural design processes for both industrial and residential buildings. This role requires a blend of creative vision, technical expertise, and leadership skills to ensure that projects meet aesthetic, functional, and safety standards. The General Manager collaborates with various stakeholders, including clients, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to deliver high-quality and innovative building designs. Key Responsibilities 1. Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of architects, designers, and drafters. Develop and implement design strategies and workflows. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. 2. Project Planning and Execution: Oversee the entire design process from concept to completion. Develop project timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Coordinate with project managers to align design activities with construction schedules. Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations. 3. Design Development: Lead the conceptualization and development of building designs. Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and materials. Ensure designs are functional, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing. Incorporate feedback from clients, stakeholders, and team members into design revisions. 4. Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding design matters. Present design proposals and updates to clients and stakeholders. Address client concerns and incorporate their requirements into the design. Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other partners. 5. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures throughout the design process. Conduct regular reviews and audits of design work. Ensure that all design outputs meet or exceed industry standards and best practices. 6. Innovation and Sustainability: Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Promote the use of sustainable materials and design practices. Encourage the integration of innovative solutions and technologies in building designs. 7. Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the design departments budget. Allocate resources effectively to meet project demands. Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and presentation skills. In-depth knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively. Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
