Design Detailer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Detailer with expertise in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Autodesk Inventor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting customer drawings, evaluating manufacturing feasibility, estimating project costs, and developing detailed CAD plans for production. This role involves working closely under the supervision of senior engineers to ensure accurate and efficient design processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Autodesk Inventor to create detailed designs and drawings.
• Read and understand customer drawings for projects/products.
• Evaluate the feasibility of designs for manufacturing.
• Modify drawings based on manufacturing feasibility and actively work with clients to finalize and approve the drawings.
• Proactively work with vendors, majorly extrusion vendors to verify, modify, approve and sign-off counter drawings.
• Estimate costs for customer projects/products based on design specifications.
• Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products.
• Prepare detailed drawings that are sent out for production.
• Apply knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), drawing symbols, and tolerance standards (ISO, ASTM, BIS) to design projects.
• Prepare gage drawings for quality checking.
• Develop tooling drawings to support the production process.
• Possess basic knowledge about raw materials and their applications in design and manufacturing.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Design Detailer or similar role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Autodesk Inventor.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of GD&T, drawing symbols, and tolerance standards.
• Excellent ability to read and interpret customer drawings.
• Experience with cost estimation for manufacturing projects.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
