certified and experienced Medical Coding Surgery Trainer

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver structured

  virtual and live training

  sessions in:

• Same Day Surgery

  (across all specialties)

• Anesthesia

• Emergency Department (ED)

• Evaluation & Management (E&M)

  with emphasis on

  payer-specific guidelines

  and

  CMS Chapter 12

  .
• Design and implement end-to-end onboarding and upskilling programs, including:

• 1-week process training

• 1-month On-the-Job Training (OJT)

• Regular

  performance evaluations

  and

  assessments

• Conduct

  coding assessments

  and provide detailed feedback to improve

  accuracy

  ,

  compliance

  , and

  documentation standards

  .
• Lead

  denial management

  training with practical simulations, appeal strategies, and root cause analysis.
• Maintain and update all training content in accordance with the

  latest CMS and payer regulations

  .
• Collaborate with leadership to drive coder

  ramp-up

  ,

  process optimization

  , and

  performance monitoring

  .

Required Qualifications:

• Active

  CPC (AAPC)

  or

  CCS (AHIMA)

  certification

• 6+ years

  of experience in coding high-complexity

  outpatient specialties

  in both

  professional

  and

  facility

  settings
• Demonstrated expertise in:

• Same Day Surgery (SDS)

• Transportation Services

• Anesthesia

• Emergency Department (ED)

• Evaluation & Management (E&M)

• Durable Medical Equipment (DME)

• Pathology

• Denial management

  and

  appeals

  experience strongly preferred

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in

  ICD-10

  ,

  CPT

  , and

  HCPCS

  coding standards
• Deep understanding of

  CMS Chapter 12

  and

  payer-specific coding regulations

• Skilled in virtual training platforms such as

  Microsoft Teams

  or

  Zoom

• Familiar with

  audit documentation

  ,

  feedback systems

  , and

  performance tracking tools

Other Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to

  train and mentor teams of 100+ FTE coders
