Job Description

Reinsurance Finance function in India primarily supports the quarterly closing and reporting process of Reinsurance Business. There are different sub-processes performed by Reinsurance Financial reporting team in India which includes but is not limited to: Quarter end Close, Reporting, Reconciliation, Planning, Business Analysis processes, etc. This position will be supporting the Bermuda Reinsurance business.


What you'll be doing

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Responsible for all financial reporting activities for the Bermuda Reinsurance business, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Prepare and drive financial planning, accounting, and reporting processes, including quarterly and monthly close, reconciliations, and analysis of technical items within the P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Perform quarterly controls and checks efficiently and effectively.
  • Analysis of Income Statement, Balance Sheet line items along with commentaries & presentations for Senior Management/Controllers.
  • Support management team on regular basis for any ad-hoc request.
  • Responsible for preparing, reviewing, and posting (if needed) journal entries.
  • Maintain robust communication with onshore (both written and verbal) and manage expectations.
  • Keeping flexibility in reports to incorporate any high level adjustments or structural changes from stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation.
  • Drive continuous/ process improvement and special projects. Knowledge of Enterprise Finance Reporting (EFR), Qlik & HFM / Smart-View, IFRS 17, will be an added advantage
  • Support Ad-hoc activities.

You will report to Manager, Financial Reporting & Accounting.

What you' ll bring

We are looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Accounting and Analytical skills: Qualified CA with relevant experience or MBA Finance with relevant experience in Financial Accounting & Internal reporting.
  • Excellent Accounting knowledge preferably on IFRS Reviewing Journal Entries, Income Statement Analysis, Balance Sheet analysis and commentary, Financial Planning & Analysis etc.
  • Communication skills: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Finance Reporting (EFR), QlikView, Power BI & HFM / Smart-View, IFRS 17, will be an added advantage.
  • MS Office skills: Should have effective MS Excel and Power Point skills. Knowledge of VBA is an added advantage
