Position Overview

The Deputy Librarian will assist the Librarian in managing and enhancing library services and resources to support the academic, research, and administrative goals of the University. This role includes leadership in digital initiatives, research assistance, user support, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and executing library policies, systems, and procedures.
• Oversee daily library functions such as acquisitions, cataloguing, circulation, digital resource management, and reference services.
• Provide research support to faculty, researchers, and students, including bibliometric analysis and enhancing research visibility.
• Drive digital library initiatives, manage institutional repositories, and handle e-resource subscriptions.
• Organize orientation and training sessions on information literacy, plagiarism detection tools, and research databases for faculty and students.
• Supervise library personnel, delegate tasks, and ensure efficient daily operations.
• Liaise with vendors and publishers regarding subscriptions, renewals, and licensing agreements for electronic resources.
• Prepare reports and documentation for accreditation and assessment processes such as NAAC, NBA, and NIRF.
• Keep abreast of new technologies and advancements in library and information science to continuously improve library services.

Educational Qualifications

• M.Phil. or Ph.D. in any specialization
