Deputy GM - Design & Architecture

As an experienced Design Lead in the architecture field, you will be responsible for leading the design phase, representing the client in collaboration with internal and external teams. You will conduct and guide technical workshops to ensure shop drawings uphold design intent. Your role will also involve facilitating coordination between design consultants, stakeholders, and facility managers, as well as resolving unforeseen coordination and interface issues across all phases of design. Key Responsibilities: - Leadership & Coordination: - Lead the design phase, representing the client in collaboration with internal and external teams. - Conduct and guide technical workshops, ensuring shop drawings uphold design intent. - Facilitate coordination between design consultants, stakeholders, and facility managers. - Resolve unforeseen coordination and interface issues across all phases of design. - Financial & Risk Management: - Manage design change control to minimize cost and schedule impacts. - Maintain design quality and mitigate design-related risks across all deliverables. - Academic & Operational Integration: - Integrate operational and educational requirements into the design in close collaboration with consultants and stakeholders. - Coordinate site and factory inspections to ensure adherence to quality and design standards. - Project Oversight: - Lead the design process from Concept to Construction Documentation. - Oversee mock-up reviews to maintain quality and align with the client's vision. - Work closely with project management, commercial, and design teams to implement client-driven changes. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field (professional accreditation preferred). - 12+ years of architectural design and/or client-side management experience. - Proven track record of delivering high-quality education sector projects. - Strong technical expertise in detailing, materials, and education design standards. This position is based on-site in India, with a work schedule of 5.5 days per week.
