Job Description

About the Role:

The Deputy General Manager Operations will play a key role in overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end manufacturing and operational processes of our chemical plant. This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in chemical manufacturing operations, process improvement, safety, and quality management. The incumbent will ensure operational excellence, cost efficiency, compliance, and timely production delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee

    daily plant operations

    to ensure production targets, quality standards, and efficiency metrics are met.
  • Drive

    process optimization

    and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other best practices.
  • Ensure strict compliance with

    safety, health, environmental (SHE) regulations

    , and internal SOPs.
  • Monitor and manage

    production planning, inventory control, and supply chain coordination

    .
  • Lead, mentor, and develop

    plant operations teams

    , ensuring skill development and strong team performance.
  • Implement and maintain

    quality management systems

    to meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with

    R&D, maintenance, and procurement teams

    for smooth operations and timely product delivery.
  • Prepare and monitor

    operational budgets, cost control measures, and performance reports

    .
  • Lead

    risk management and troubleshooting

    of operational issues, minimizing downtime and production losses.
  • Support

    strategic planning and expansion projects

    , including new product lines or capacity enhancements.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in

    Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field

    ; MBA or Postgraduate in Operations/Management is preferred.
  • 12–15+ years of experience in

    chemical manufacturing or process industry operations

    , with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of

    chemical processes, plant operations, regulatory compliance, and safety standards

    .
  • Proven experience in

    team leadership, process improvement, and operational excellence initiatives

    .
  • Strong

    analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making

    skills.
  • Excellent

    communication and interpersonal
