Deputy General Manager-Lead Studio Engineering

As a creative professional bridging Design (Styling) & Engineering, your role will involve converting concepts into production reality with minimal deviation from the approved design theme. You will interface and negotiate cross-functionally with Engineering & Supply Chain Groups to solve technical challenges while ensuring the Design-Intent remains intact. Leading a team of studio engineers, you will mentor and develop them to enhance their capabilities. You will also take ownership of deliverables, ramp up CV PV and EV - scale 6 projects, and develop a leadership pipeline in-house. Your role will include presenting the importance & needs of Design for exterior areas and handling multiple projects for multiple business units with consistent quality to prevent design quality deterioration. Key Responsibilities: - Keeping abreast of technical developments within the automotive industry, including competitor progress. - Delivering Design studio CAS/ Class A outputs. - Mentoring Studio engineers to align their output for Design studio Delivery. - Incorporating EF & FC areas per preferred solutions and supporting the Design team in evolving the style around these areas. - Supporting and overseeing the development & maturation of Style-Critical Master-Sections as per Design requirements. Qualifications Required: - B. Tech/ M.tech in Mechanical or Automobile engineering. - 12-15 years of experience in Body & Trims Engineering with close interaction with Design teams. - Preferably, experience in a global automobile OEM Design Studio. - Knowledge of all Vehicle Systems & Components, coupled with a passion for Engineering. - Extensive experience in body and trim engineering. - Familiarity with Manufacturing Processes in Plastic Moulding and Sheet Metal Stamping. - Ability to negotiate tactically with the engineering function. - Good understanding of product development, design process, and feasibility process. - Expertise in program management, timeline management, budgeting, and resource planning.,
