Deputy Engineer - Fasteners Quality (P - 6911)

Job Title :

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out

  in-process, First-Off (FOI), and final inspection

  of fasteners as per control plans and drawings.
• Check

  dimensions, threads, hardness, surface finish, and visual parameters

  of fasteners.
• Conduct inspection during

  forging, heading, rolling, and threading

  stages to ensure process quality.
• Operate and handle inspection instruments such as:
  
• Vernier Caliper, Micrometer,Dial Gauge,Screw Gauge,Profile Projector,Ring Gauges & Plug Gauges
  
• Identify fastener defects (e.g., cracks, laps, underfill, thread damage, diameter variation) and report immediately.
  
• Support

  root cause analysis (RCA)

  for line rejections and assist in corrective actions with production teams.
• Maintain check sheets, inspection records, FOI reports, and daily quality logs.
  
• Follow

  ISO 9001 & IATF 16949

  procedures and support documentation activities.
• Ensure all gauges and measuring instruments are properly

  calibrated

  and handled safely.
• Assist in

  PPAP sample inspection

  , measurement reports, and layout inspection for new fasteners.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
  
• Support

  process audits, product audits, and 5S audits

  inside the quality department.
• Train operators on basic quality standards, defect identification, and proper gauge usage.
  
• Ensure housekeeping and safety in the inspection area as per 5S standards.

Required Skills:

• Good knowledge of

  fastener manufacturing process

  (forging, rolling, heading, threading).
• Ability to read basic

  engineering drawings

  and understand tolerances.
• Hands-on experience using

  gauges and precision instruments

  .
• Understanding of

  QMS procedures

  , control plans, and basic quality tools (7QC).
• Strong observational skills and ability to identify defects quickly.
  
• Good communication and coordination with production teams
