Role & responsibilities The Deputy Director, Learning and Development will be a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping, implementing, and continuously evolving the L&D initiatives across the organization. A key focus of this role is to drive the development and upskilling of technology talent including Engineering, UX, Product, Data Science, and other technical sub-functions. The incumbent will lead L&D strategy for 23 Business Units (BUs), including technical teams, and must demonstrate agility to respond to the dynamic needs of a high-growth organization. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic L&D Leadership Support the definition and execution of the L&D strategy, aligned with Myntras business goals. Champion initiatives that build critical capabilities across functions, especially within technical domains. Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure L&D strategies are integrated with workforce planning and talent development priorities. 2. Technical Needs Assessment & Analysis Partner with Engineering leaders, Architects, Product Managers, and other BU stakeholders to assess current and future skill needs. Conduct in-depth skills gap analyses to inform the design of data-driven, role-specific learning programs. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of technical competencies and organizational priorities. 3. Technical Program Design & Development Lead the design and delivery of robust, technically sound learning programscovering areas such as onboarding, software development practices, cloud technologies, DevOps, data science, and product innovation. Apply diverse learning methods tailored for technical professionals, including: Hands-on labs and coding challenges Real-world simulations Peer learning and mentoring On-demand content and blended learning pathways 4. Learning Technology & Innovation Drive the adoption and utilization of the Learning Experience Platform (LXP) across all supported BUs. Continuously explore emerging learning technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance learning impact and engagement. Recommend and pilot innovative learning solutions aligned with industry trends and internal capabilities. 5. Measurement & Impact Define success metrics for learning initiatives and track outcomes across levels (reaction, learning, behavior, results). Use learning analytics to measure knowledge retention, performance improvements, and ROI. Apply insights to refine content, delivery methods, and learner engagement strategies. 6. Stakeholder Management Cultivate strong relationships with senior technical stakeholders including: VPs of Engineering Senior Directors/Directors Tech Leads and ICs Act as a strategic advisor, providing guidance on learning investments, capability building, and team development strategies. 7. Content Creation & Facilitation Design high-quality learning content for both functional (technical) and behavioral development. Facilitate learning sessions and workshops as needed, adapting delivery styles for different audience segments and learning outcomes. Key Requirements 10+ years of experience in Learning & Development, with a strong background in technical learning or working closely with technology teams. Proven track record of leading large-scale L&D initiatives across diverse BUs. Strong understanding of technical domains such as software engineering, product management, data science, and UX. Experience using Learning Experience Platforms (LXPs) and other modern learning tools. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Strong facilitation skills and the ability to communicate complex technical topics in a clear, engaging manner. Agile, outcome-focused mindset with a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
