Deputy Chief of Lab

Role Summary

The Deputy Chief of Lab will be responsible for overseeing laboratory operations in Coimbatore and extending operational, quality, and administrative support to all lab units across Tamil Nadu. The role ensures adherence to regulatory standards, implementation of best practices, and delivery of accurate, timely diagnostic services.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage day-to-day laboratory operations in the Coimbatore central lab.
• Provide leadership and operational oversight for satellite/collection centers and labs across Tamil Nadu.
• Ensure compliance with NABL, ISO, and other regulatory/quality standards.
• Oversee quality assurance programs, including internal/external quality controls and audits.
• Implement and monitor SOPs across all branches in Tamil Nadu.
• Mentor and guide lab staff (technicians, pathologists, biochemists, microbiologists, etc.) for professional development.
• Coordinate with clinicians and hospital partners for smooth diagnostic services.
• Ensure effective utilization of lab resources, equipment maintenance, and technology upgradation.
• Analyze workload, productivity, and ensure timely delivery of reports.
• Handle customer/doctor escalations and provide resolutions.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in lab practices.
• Support business development teams with technical inputs for lab-related expansions in Tamil Nadu.

Qualifications & Experience

• MD / DNB in Pathology
• Minimum 10–12 years of relevant experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior lab leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, quality systems, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in handling multi-location lab operations will be an advantage.
• Excellent leadership, people management, and communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹1,680,000.00 per year
