Demi Chef de Partie

As a member of the culinary team at The Westin Sohna Resort & Spa, your primary responsibility will be to prepare special meals or substitute items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation standards. You will regulate the temperature of various cooking equipment, pull food from freezer storage to thaw, and ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and food garnish for each dish. In addition to food preparation, you will be expected to maintain detailed food logs, monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food, and communicate effectively with other team members during busy periods. You will also collaborate with the Chef to utilize excess food items for daily specials and keep the Food & Beverage service staff informed about menu specials and out-of-stock items. A key aspect of your role will involve assisting management in various tasks such as hiring, training, scheduling, and motivating employees. You will serve as a role model for the team and must adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, and anticipating guest service needs are essential components of your responsibilities. To excel in this position, you should have a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree and at least 3 years of related work experience. While supervisory experience is not required, a proactive attitude, clear communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with others are essential. You should be physically capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and able to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
