Dean of Research & Development

Job Summary:

The Dean of Research & Development will lead and enhance the institution’s research culture by fostering innovation, facilitating funded projects, encouraging inter-disciplinary collaborations, and promoting publication and patenting efforts. The role involves strategic planning, policy development, and providing leadership in the advancement of research across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the strategic plan for the institution’s R&D activities.
• Promote a culture of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship across all departments.
• Guide and support faculty in preparing and submitting research proposals to funding agencies.
• Facilitate collaborations with industry, research organizations, and academic institutions.
• Monitor ongoing research projects, ensure compliance, and track deliverables.
• Organize research workshops, faculty development programs, seminars, and conferences.
• Supervise the functioning of research centers, incubation units, and innovation hubs.
• Encourage and oversee publications in reputed journals, conferences, and filing of patents.
• Prepare annual R&D reports and maintain records of research achievements.
• Ensure ethical standards and plagiarism control in all research outputs.
• Identify and disseminate research funding opportunities.
• Act as a liaison between the institution and government bodies or industry partners for research development.

Qualification & Experience:

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 10–15 years with 3 to 5 academic/research experience and 5 years of Industrial experience.
• Proven leadership in research planning and execution.
• Experience in managing research grants and working with funding agencies upon the projects.
