"Datadog Observability Engineer", for one of our reputed Client, based out in Mumbai.

Job Role:- Datadog Observability Engineer

Exp Range:- 5-7 yrs

Job Purpose/Summary:-

experienced Datadog Observability Engineer with 5 to 7 years of IT and DevOps experience, including deep hands-on work with Datadog.

Key Responsibilities: -

1) Datadog Integration & Management

Set up and maintain Datadog integrations with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), container orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.

Customize the Datadog Agent on hosts following the official best practices for optimized telemetry collectionmetrics, traces, and logs.

2) Infrastructure & Application Monitoring

Develop and manage monitoring strategies for hybrid infrastructure and containerized workloads.

Implement APM for distributed tracing, service performance, and dependency mapping.

3) Log Management & Compliance.

Design centralized log collection pipelines using built-in and custom log processors.

Apply log enrichment, parsing rules, filters, and configure archival policies per retention/compliance needs.

Ensure real-time log ingestion and availability for production and staging environments.

4) Automation & IaC

Manage Datadog configurations programmatically via Terraform, Datadog APIs, and CI/CD workflows.

Automate alert creation, monitor deployments, and dashboard versioning using Infrastructure-as-Code.

5) Synthetic Monitoring & RUM

Design and deploy API and browser-based synthetic tests for uptime and SLA validation.

Automate synthetic tests with proper tagging, alerting, and root cause diagnostics.

Integrate RUM and Session Replay SDKs into web/mobile apps; analyze sessions for UI/UX improvements and performance bottlenecks.

Correlate frontend telemetry with backend APM and logs for full-stack observability.

Qualificaton:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Behavioral Skills/Competencies:

Strong hands-on experience in Datadog setup and administration.

Exposure to cloud-native ecosystems and DevOps workflows.

Familiarity with security standards and log retention policies.

Proficient in scripting/automation (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform).

Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
