Databricks Platform, Engineering & Operations Lead

As a Data Platform, Engineering, and Operations lead at Qualcomm India Private Limited, you will be a key player in shaping the future of data capabilities within the Enterprise Data Transformation program. Your role will involve driving the build-out of a modern enterprise-wide lake house, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and compliance, while enabling cutting-edge analytics solutions. You will lead a talented team of platform and data engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Key Responsibilities: - Define and lead the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data platforms, aligning with business objectives and technological advancements. - Oversee rapid incremental delivery of design, development, and deployment of data platforms/products/solutions, ensuring seamless data integration, quality, compliance, and security. - Lead the core technical Data Engineering team in building reusable frameworks for data pipeline development, embracing GenAI and a low code/no code mindset. - Partner with business stakeholders to empower self-service capabilities and establish Centers of Excellence for Business Intelligence. - Establish robust DevSecOps capabilities with a focus on automation and security controls. - Manage the day-to-day operations of data platforms, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability. - Collaborate with IT and Business teams with a product mindset to ensure data platforms meet business needs and drive innovation. - Provide hands-on technical oversight and challenge the status quo to encourage innovation and continuous improvement. Qualifications Required: - 14+ years of IT-related work experience in Data and Analytics domain with a Bachelor's degree. - 7+ years of supervisory or leadership experience. - Hands-on technical experience with AWS, Databricks data platform. - Strong understanding and hands-on experience with lakehouse medallion data architecture, data engineering, operations, and governance. - Proven implementation experience with data platforms such as Databricks, Fivetran, Collibra, Acceldata, AWS, and cloud-based BI solutions like ThoughtSpot, Tableau. - Experience in establishing end-to-end DevSecOps and release management processes. - Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills in a global hybrid delivery model. - Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thought process.
