Database Lead

You are an experienced Database Lead proficient in MS SQL Server at the Architect level and have a working knowledge of Oracle at the L3 Support level. Your expertise in PostgreSQL would be an added advantage. You must possess exceptional communication skills and a track record of leading and guiding database teams. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, optimizing, and managing critical database systems that cater to enterprise-level applications. Your key responsibilities will involve leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable and high-performing database solutions using MS SQL Server. You will offer architectural guidance on database design, performance tuning, and capacity planning. As an SME for MS SQL Server, you will provide support and maintenance for Oracle databases at the L3 support level. Additionally, you will offer direction and recommendations on PostgreSQL as needed. Managing a team of 4+ database administrators, you will focus on fostering collaboration and growth, establishing best practices for database development, deployment, and maintenance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including development, infrastructure, and application support, will be crucial. Ensuring data integrity, security, and availability across all managed database platforms will be part of your responsibilities. Participating in on-call support rotation and managing incident resolution promptly are also expected. To excel in this role, you should have at least 12 years of experience in database administration and architecture. Your expertise should include extensive hands-on experience in MS SQL Server at the Architect level, covering architecture, clustering, replication, performance tuning, and high availability. You should also have solid experience in Oracle at the L3 Support level, including installation, backup & recovery, and performance optimization. Exposure to PostgreSQL environments will be highly beneficial. A strong understanding of database security, backup, and disaster recovery solutions is essential. Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring teams for over 4 years, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills, will be key to your success. Lastly, your ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment will be crucial for this role.,
