Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain fully functional

  PostgreSQL database clusters

  across development, QA, staging, and production environments.
• Manage

  database upgrades, migrations, and scaling

  for high-availability and containerized environments.
• Perform

  query tuning, preventive maintenance, and configuration optimization

  to enhance database performance.
• Implement and monitor

  backup and recovery strategies

  , ensuring data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
• Administer and manage

  PostgreSQL clusters using Patroni

  for high availability.
• Conduct

  routine database maintenance

  (e.g., Vacuum, Archiving, Rendering) to ensure system stability and efficiency.
• Automate infrastructure and database operations using

  scripting and DevOps tools

  to support CI/CD pipelines.
• Define and manage

  database security policies

  , including user creation, role management, and access controls.
• Review existing configurations, provide

  design recommendations

  , and drive platform improvements.
• Collaborate with global, cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure database solutions.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with

  PostgreSQL administration

  in DevOps/Cloud environments.
• Expertise in

  PostgreSQL cluster management with Patroni

  .
• Experience with

  containerized PostgreSQL databases

  (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of

  performance tuning, query optimization, and configuration management

  .
• Strong knowledge of

  backup, recovery, and disaster recovery

  processes.
• Experience with

  CI/CD pipelines

  and database automation.
• Hands-on scripting experience (e.g.,

  Bash, Python, or Ansible

  ).
• Familiarity with

  infrastructure automation

• Ability to work with distributed teams across multiple geographies.

• Exposure to

Experience & Education

• 610 years

  of experience as a Database Engineer / DBA with PostgreSQL focus.
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
