We are seeking a highly skilledDatabase Administrator (DBA) with strong experience in managing mission-critical databases within theGlobal Transaction Banking (GTB) domain. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance, security, and reliability of databases supporting transaction banking platforms such asCash Management, Trade Finance, Payments, SWIFT, Channels, Liquidity Management , and real-time transaction processing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Administration & Operations

Install, configure, and maintainOracle \/ SQL Server \/ PostgreSQL databases supporting GTB applications.Managedatabase clusters, replication setups, and HA\/DR solutions to support real-time and high-volume transaction flows.Ensure optimal performance fortransaction banking systems , including payment engines, CMS, Vostro\/Nostro reconciliation, and treasury interfaces.Performdatabase performance tuning, SQL optimization, indexing , and capacity planning for large transaction loads.Overseeschema changes, database releases, and version upgrades with minimal downtime.Security & ComplianceImplement and maintaindatabase security policies , including encryption, data masking, privileged access control, and audit logging.Ensure compliance withSWIFT CSP , PCI-DSS, ISO standards, and local regulatory requirements applicable to GTB.Manage user roles, permissions, and authentication in line with banking standards.Backup, Recovery & DR ReadinessEnsure robustbackup and recovery strategies , including RMAN or equivalent tools, aligned with GTB RPO\/RTO targets.Support and participate inDisaster Recovery drills , replication testing, and business continuity planning for critical GTB systems.Monitoring & Issue ResolutionMonitor database availability, latency, replication lag, and overall health using enterprise monitoring tools.Troubleshoot performance issues, storage bottlenecks, deadlocks, and slow queries impacting payment or transaction processing.Provide 24\/7 support forcritical GTB applications , especially during peak transaction hours and cut-off times.Collaboration & DocumentationWork closely withapplication owners, payment teams, trade finance teams, integration teams , and vendors to support GTB platform enhancements.Document processes, technical configurations, SOPs, and audit materials as required by internal and external regulators.Required Skills & Experience:8+ years of experience as aDatabase Administrator in a banking or financial services environment.Strong hands-on experience withOracle (11g\/12c\/19c) orSQL Server , including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, AlwaysOn, or equivalent HA technologies.Deep understanding oftransaction banking products such as:Payments (RTGS, ACH, SWIFT, NEFT, International Remittances)Cash ManagementLiquidity ManagementTrade FinanceCorporate Online Banking ChannelsExperience supportinghigh-throughput, low-latency, real-time systems .Expertise inPL\/SQL, T-SQL , performance tuning, and query optimization.Strong knowledge ofLinux\/Unix environments and scripting.Familiarity withAPI-based integration , messaging queues (MQ\/Kafka), and middleware used in GTB.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.Professional certifications such as:Oracle OCP \/ OCMMicrosoft SQL Server certificationsPostgreSQL certificationExperience withcloud-based databases (Oracle Cloud, Azure, AWS RDS) for banking workloads.Knowledge ofDevOps automation using Jenkins, Ansible, or Terraform.Experience inISO 20022 , SWIFT integration, or payment modernization initiatives.
