Database Administrator

As a Database Administrator at our company, your role will involve designing the database schema, tables, relationships, and other structural components of the database. You will be responsible for ensuring that the database is secure from unauthorized access and that sensitive data is protected from theft, hacking, or other security breaches. Monitoring database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or other issues that may impact performance will also be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will be in charge of ensuring that the database is regularly backed up, recovery procedures are in place, and the data stored is accurate and consistent. Providing data exports and reports for customer/operational support, anticipating future growth of the database system, and performing regular maintenance tasks are also part of your duties. Managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights, as well as identifying and resolving any issues that arise with the database system, will be crucial aspects of your role. Key Responsibilities: - Designing the database schema, tables, relationships, and other structural components - Ensuring database security and protection of sensitive data - Monitoring database performance and resolving performance issues - Regularly backing up the database and implementing recovery procedures - Ensuring data accuracy and consistency - Providing data exports and reports - Anticipating future growth of the database system - Performing regular maintenance tasks - Managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights - Identifying and resolving issues with the database system Qualifications Required: - At least 5 years of experience in Database Administration - Extensive experience in database administration for MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL - Proficiency in Python, Bash, SQL, and automation frameworks like Ansible or Puppet - Experience in configuring and managing replication, high availability, backup, and recovery for databases - Expertise in optimizing databases for maximum performance and scalability - Automation of database deployments and managing versions - Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus - Database security expertise including user access controls, encryption, and GDPR compliance - Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Please note that our company also offers professional development opportunities, flexible working hours, regular chit-chat sessions, a comfortable working environment, healthcare benefits, and appreciations & certifications to support the well-being and growth of our team members.,
