Database Administrator

As an experienced MySQL database administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring high performance, availability, and security of MySQL instances. Additionally, you must have experience in other NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Elasticsearch. Your primary responsibilities will include: - Installing, configuring, monitoring, upgrading, and maintaining databases in both production and non-production environments. - Having hands-on experience in MySQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Elasticsearch. - Providing 24/7 support for failover in a High Availability Disaster Recovery environment with MySQL native Replication. - Owning database maintenance activities such as profiling server resource usage, optimization, and tweaking as necessary. - Troubleshooting database issues on all levels including data corruption, data restore, data backup, recovery of offline databases, and statement-level analysis. - Ensuring performance, security, and availability of databases. - Preparing documentations to enforce best practices across the organization. - Handling common database procedures such as upgrades, backups, recoveries, and migrations. - Coordinating with other team members and stakeholders to drive critical updates related to database failover. - Identifying and fixing all issues in databases including slow queries, database structure changes, etc. Qualifications required for this role include: - 5+ years of experience as a DBA in MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or similar technologies. - Strong knowledge in MySQL database management including relational schema definitions, integrity constraints, replication clusters, and log management for quick issue identification. - In-depth understanding of MySQL database fundamentals and query optimization such as query plan analysis, full table scan optimizations, query worker analysis, query caching, complex SQL queries with multiple joins, views, and stored procedures. - Strong knowledge of NoSQL databases for concurrency and lock performance monitoring, WiredTiger for MongoDB, GlobalLocks, and Locks. - Experience in performance tuning including clustered and non-clustered indexing, sharding and partitioning concepts, versioned data rows, and periodic data archival from transactional tables. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.,
