Position Overview:

Data Visualization Engineer

LookML modeling, BigQuery integration, and modern data visualization best practices

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain

  Looker dashboards, reports, and data models

  .
• Build and optimize

  LookML semantic layers

  that integrate seamlessly with

  BigQuery

  .
• Partner with data engineering teams to design efficient data structures and queries.
• Establish and enforce

  data governance, quality, and security best practices

  in Looker.
• Enable

  self-service analytics

  by empowering business teams with reusable data models.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into actionable visualizations.
• Ensure

  performance optimization

  of queries and dashboards.
• Document modeling logic, dashboards, and user guides for maintainability and adoption.
• Stay current with emerging

  data visualization trends

  and

  GCP-native analytics services

  .

Required Skills:

• 710 years

  of experience in business intelligence / data visualization.

• 5+ years of hands-on Looker development

  (LookML, Explores, Views, Dashboards).
• Expertise in

  SQL

  (query optimization, analytic functions).
• Strong knowledge of

  BigQuery

  and data warehouse design patterns.
• Familiarity with

  GCP data ecosystem

  (Dataplex, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, etc.).
• Ability to design

  scalable and reusable data models

  .
• Proven track record of building impactful

  executive dashboards and KPIs

  .

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

• Google Cloud Looker Business Analyst Certification

  or

  Looker LookML Developer Certification

  .
• Exposure to

  Tableau, Power BI, or other BI tools

  (for comparative design practices).
• Knowledge of

  data storytelling

  and UX best practices for dashboards.
• Experience in

  embedding Looker

  in customer-facing applications is a plus.
