Pix Rock collaborates with studios globally and is known for delivering high-quality visual effects. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a I/O Data Technician at Pix Rock Vfx in Salem. The Data Technician will be responsible for handling data center operations, communication, cabling, and utilizing analytical skills to ensure smooth data operations on a day-to-day basis. Handle the ingest and output of all media assets , including plates, reference materials, and deliveries. Ensure all incoming and outgoing files are correctly formatted, named, and organized according to the studio’s pipeline and project requirements. Maintain and manage secure data transfers (via FTP, Aspera, or other file transfer systems) from clients and vendors. Track and log all incoming and outgoing files using production management software. Update shot databases, asset libraries , and internal trackers regularly to reflect the current status of media. Ensure clear and accurate communication of file versions and statuses to production teams and artists. Assist artists, production staff, and supervisors with file access, transfers, and storage issues . Follow and uphold the studio’s I/O pipeline standards and procedures . Collaborate with production coordinators and supervisors to meet delivery schedules and deadlines. Contribute to the optimization of workflows by suggesting improvements to file handling processes. Ensure that all critical data is backed up and archived properly. Maintain organized records of archived projects for future retrieval when required. Act as a key point of contact between production, artists, and external vendors regarding data delivery and receipt. Provide regular status updates to production teams on the progress of data transfers and deliveries. Show more Show less
