The Role

The Data Science role is responsible for applying advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics to support AMS’s thought leadership and research initiatives.
The role involves performing cluster analysis, utilizing SPSS, and examining correlations within large datasets, such as AMS enterprise data, labour market trends and research hub outputs, to support strategic decision-making across the organization. This role supports the I&I research agenda through statistical analysis, and trend interpretation, and supports the development of data-led case studies to illustrate the value of AMS’s data capabilities.

Key Accountabilities

Subject Matter Expertise – developing SME in statistical analysis and data science, identifying key metrics from generated or acquired datasets which require deep dive in the report analysis e.g. attrition prediction, workforce planning, skills forecasting.
  • Robust Statistical Frameworks and Data Sets – with direction, support the development of comprehensive statistical frameworks that drive AMS’s thought leadership and support the AMS research agenda, enabling high-quality research and insightful analysis.
  • Accurate Trend Forecasting – with direction, develop interpretation and forecasting of employment trends and hiring conditions by leveraging AMS’s aggregate data, and with support, draft valuable foresight for workforce planning and decision-making.
  • Analytical Insights – support delivery of actionable insights through the application of advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics, enhancing AMS’s capability to identify patterns and predict future outcomes.
  • Hypothesis Validation and Research Enhancement – with direction, apply formulation and testing of hypotheses to validate assumptions and support research objectives, reinforcing the integrity and relevance of AMS’s data-driven research initiatives.
  • Trusted Advisor - knowledgeable, trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, answering questions on data science capabilities, methodologies and strategies.
  • Predictive Model Development – with direction, application of predictive models that accurately forecast future headcount trends and operational outcomes, empowering AMS and its leaders with reliable future-oriented insights. Leverage AI and machine learning to deliver predictive insights for workforce planning, attrition, and talent management.
  • Effective Communication of Analytical Results - clear and concise translation of complex analytical results into actionable insights, ensuring stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) can easily understand and leverage the findings for decision-making

Skills & Experience

Subject Matter Expertise - keep up to date with relevant statistical analysis and data science tools and methodologies, identifying key metrics which require deep dive in the report analysis e.g. supply & demand; pay rates; skill sets; candidate behavior; current redundancies or other drivers in the market which may have an impact on client’s recruitment strategy.
  • Statistical Analysis and Support– apply statistical frameworks and holistic data sets to support data-driven AMS thought leadership content.
  • Trend Interpretation and Analysis – interpret and forecast AMS aggregate data trends to predict future employment patterns and hiring conditions.
  • Advanced Data Analysis - apply statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics to derive insights. Collaborate with BI developers to integrate predictive models into Power BI dashboards.
  • Hypothesis Testing - test hypotheses based on the data provided.
  • Model Development – Develop and deploy AI/ML models for HR use cases (attrition prediction, skill gap analysis, workforce optimization). Ensure data quality, governance, and ethical AI practices.
  • Trusted Advisor - knowledgeable, trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing expertise on data science capabilities, methodologies and strategies.
  • Research Lab Collaboration - gather comprehensive requirements in order to understand stakeholders’ needs, goals and measures of success, regularly revisiting requirements and assumptions to ensure alignment throughout the project.
  • Interpretation and communication - translate complex analytical results into actionable insights and communicating them to stakeholders through visualization and reports.
