Job Description
Position Overview: As a Data Privacy Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and best practices. You will work closely with internal teams and clients to assess their current data handling processes, identify areas of risk, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of client data processing activities to identify privacy risks and compliance gaps.
2. Develop and implement privacy policies, procedures, and documentation tailored to the specific needs of each client.
3. Provide expert guidance and support on data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant privacy laws.
4. Design and deliver privacy training programs to educate employees and stakeholders on their responsibilities and best practices.
5. Assist in the development and maintenance of data processing agreements, privacy notices, and consent mechanisms.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate privacy considerations into new products, services, and business processes.
7. Perform data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and advise on measures to minimize privacy risks.
8. Stay updated on emerging privacy trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness of privacy programs.
9. Support clients in responding to data subject rights requests, incidents, and regulatory inquiries.
10. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic guidance and recommendations to enhance their privacy posture.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
2. 2-5 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, or related field.
3. Strong understanding of data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.
4. Experience conducting privacy assessments, audits, and developing remediation plans.
5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex privacy concepts to non-technical audiences.
6. Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, or similar are preferred.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
9. Proficiency in privacy management tools and technologies is a plus.
10. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of data privacy.
