Data Migration Consultant

Role Overview You are sought after for your expertise as a Data Migration Lead/Manager within the banking domain. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and drive comprehensive data migration initiatives for core banking systems. You will be at the forefront of legacy-to-new application migrations, version upgrades, and client-side transition projects, ensuring precision, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory standards throughout the migration process. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage end-to-end data migration projects for Core Banking Systems such as Flexcube, Finacle, TCS BaNCS, T24, OBDX, and others. - Develop and implement a data migration strategy, roadmap, and methodology encompassing ETL, staging, validation, and reconciliation processes. - Conduct requirement analysis, source-to-target mapping, and define transformation rules for various banking data components including customers, accounts, loans, GL, and transactions. - Supervise data profiling, cleansing, enrichment, and quality checks to maintain data integrity and accuracy. - Collaborate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to devise optimal migration solutions. - Perform mock runs, dress rehearsals, and plan cut-over activities for successful go-live. - Monitor migration issue tracking, resolution, and reporting in coordination with stakeholders. - Ensure compliance with banking regulations, security standards, and audit requirements. - Provide guidance to onsite/offshore migration teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality outcomes. - Engage closely with business users and client stakeholders during UAT, validation, and reconciliation phases. - Assist in post-migration stabilization and performance optimization efforts. Qualification Required - 8-15 years of IT experience, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated to banking data migration projects. - Proven track record in CBS migration and upgrades involving platforms like Flexcube, Finacle, TCS BaNCS, T24, OBDX, or similar systems. - Proficiency in data migration tools and ETL frameworks such as Informatica, DataStage, ODI, Pentaho, or custom SQL/PLSQL scripts. - Strong skills in Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or DB2 for migration and reconciliation purposes. - Experience in data validation, reconciliation frameworks, and audit reporting. - Sound understanding of cut-over strategy, roll-back planning, and risk management. - Exposure to cloud-based banking migrations on platforms like Azure, AWS, GCP would be advantageous. - Excellent stakeholder management, client engagement, and leadership capabilities.,
