Data Engineer intern

• About The Role:We are looking for a motivated and inquisitive Data Engineer Intern to support the development of data-driven and AI-powered solutions
• You ll work closely with experienced engineers and consultants on projects involving data preparation, model experimentation, and real-world analytics for cloud-native environments
• This is an excellent opportunity to get hands-on experience in solving meaningful business problems using machine learning, AI, and AWS data services

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing activitiesPerform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patternsSupport development and evaluation of machine learning modelsCommunicate findings clearly through reports, visualisations, and presentationsCollaborate with team members to solve analytical problemsDocument processes, codes, and results for repeatabilityLearn and apply machine learning and deep learning concepts under the guidance of senior team members
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to data science solutions based on business requirements
• Assist in the development and implementation of predictive modeling techniques
• Understand and apply Generative AI concepts, including LLM, OpenAI, and prompt engineering
• Work closely with senior engineers to integrate data science solutions into production systems
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI technologies
• Contribute to the documentation of data science models, algorithms, and workflows

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors or advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related fieldStrong proficiency in Python programming and experience with relevant libraries (eg, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
• Interest in AWS cloud services and a willingness to gain expertise in deploying data science solutions on the cloud
• Familiarity with SQL for querying and manipulating datasets
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• A proactive attitude and a commitment to continuous learning
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

• Exposure to AWS data and AI services (eg, SageMaker, Redshift, Glue, Bedrock)Knowledge of NLP, computer vision, or GenAI tools like LangChain, Hugging Face, or OpenAI APIs
• Participation in hackathons, Kaggle competitions, or published academic work
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD workflows
