About the Master Data Management (MDM) Team

• 
  

  We are a team of expert business analysts and data/software engineers, spread across multiple locations around the globe, driving the MDM function at Swiss Re.

• 
  

  We are responsible for delivering all stages of software development including business analysis, design, development, testing, roll-out, and operational management for nearly 1000 master and reference data sets.

• 
  

  We are the primary contact for our internal clients and business partners for the MDM processes, technology platform , and data domain expertise .

About the Role

• 
  

  You will work closely with senior developers, architects, and business analysts to design, build, and maintain web services that support Swiss Re s enterprise MDM platform.

• 
  

  Support the development of Java-based integration services, including RESTful APIs, using Spring Boot and SQL databases.

• 
  

  Assist in troubleshooting and resolving incidents, problems, and change requests related to services you help build or maintain .

• 
  

  Participate in code reviews, testing cycles, and documentation activities.

• 
  

  Support deployments and gain hands-on exposure to cloud environments (preferably Azure) and DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines.

• 
  

  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure services are reliable, performant, and aligned with MDM architecture and data quality expectations.

About You

• 
  

  You have a bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.

• 
  

  You bring a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Java development or building web services.

• 
  

  Good understanding of Java (Core), Spring Boot, and SQL; exposure to ORM frameworks like Hibernate is a plus.

• 
  

  Familiarity with RESTful API design and modern development tools such as Git and Maven.

• 
  

  Exposure to cloud technologies (preferably Microsoft Azure), CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Terraform is an added advantage.

• 
  

  Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn new technologies , and the ability to work collaboratively with global teams.

• 
  

  Experience or interest in MDM, data integration, or enterprise data platforms is a strong differentiator.
