Data Center Network Engineer (Cisco ACI Specialist)

As a Data Center Network Engineer specializing in Cisco ACI, your role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable network infrastructures across data center environments. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing, implementing, and maintaining Cisco ACI-based data center networks. - Managing ACI Fabric components such as APIC controllers, spines, and leaf switches. - Creating and managing tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, EPGs, contracts, and policies within ACI. - Integrating ACI with virtualization platforms (VMware vCenter, Hyper-V) and security platforms. - Troubleshooting complex network and ACI-related issues in multi-site environments. - Planning and executing migrations from traditional networking to ACI-based fabric. - Performing regular network assessments, capacity planning, and optimization. - Documenting network architecture, topologies, and procedures. - Collaborating with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams to align network architecture with business needs. - Staying up to date with Cisco technologies, data center trends, and best practices. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). - 5+ years of experience in data center networking. - 3+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco ACI (design, deployment, operations). - Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 protocols (BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, STP). - Solid knowledge of IP addressing/subnetting, VRF, multicast, QoS, etc. - Familiarity with network monitoring and automation tools. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Good understanding of ITIL processes and change management. Preferred qualifications for this role include: - Cisco certifications: CCNP/CCIE Data Center or ACI Specialist certification. - Experience with Cisco Nexus switches (9K, 7K, 5K). - Experience with multi-site ACI, remote leaf deployments, and integration with public cloud (AWS, Azure). - Experience in automation using Ansible, Python, or REST APIs. - Experience with security integration (firewalls, segmentation, microsegmentation).
