Job Description

As a Data Center Architect at UST, you will play a crucial role in designing and optimizing rack configurations to ensure efficient power, cooling, and cabling practices. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing and documenting standardized rack configurations, incorporating best practices for power, cooling, and cabling. - Developing and maintaining detailed rack deployment plans, including hardware specifications and network connectivity details. - Collaborating with data center operations teams to implement rack deployments, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety protocols to prevent critical incidents. - Conducting thermal analysis using CFD tools to optimize rack cooling strategies and reduce PUE through efficient cooling solutions. - Evaluating and selecting rack hardware components based on performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. - Troubleshooting and resolving rack-related issues such as power failures, network connectivity problems, and thermal anomalies to minimize downtime. - Monitoring rack power usage and cooling performance using DCIM tools to identify areas for optimization. - Contributing to capacity planning efforts by providing accurate rack space and power availability data. Your required skills for this role include: - Expertise in thermal management, CFD simulations, and airflow optimization. - Knowledge of power distribution systems, UPS systems, power density calculations, and BCM. - Proficiency in rack design, server chassis selection, cable management, and equipment layout. - Familiarity with DCIM Tools like Nlyte and Sunbird, as well as cabling standards and networking fundamentals. - Understanding of physical security systems, technical writing, presentation skills, and stakeholder management. - Ability to conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex issues. Desired skills include experience in overall data center design and infrastructure planning, along with a strong background in power, cooling, and networking principles. In terms of qualifications, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, along with at least 7 years of experience in data center infrastructure design and implementation focusing on rack systems. Additionally, certifications such as RCDD or CDCP are considered a plus.
