Job Summary:
CGI is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Data Analyst with a strong background in banking and financial services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with banking products data, performing data analysis, SQL querying, data mapping, and creating business and technical documentation. You will act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure data solutions meet business objectives.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Analyze and interpret banking and financial product data (e.g., loans, deposits, credit cards, payments, investments).• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to elicit and document requirements for data-related projects.• Perform complex SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze data from various systems.• Conduct data mapping between source and target systems and document data transformations.• Create and maintain detailed documentation, including data dictionaries, business rules, process flows, and mapping specs.• Develop system and process diagrams to represent data flows, system interactions, and integration points.• Assist in relational data modeling and work closely with data architects to design or refine schemas.• Support data migration, data quality assessment, and reconciliation activities.• Participate in testing, including validating data transformations and supporting UAT with business users.• Maintain compliance with data governance standards and ensure data accuracy and security.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 6-8 years of experience as a Data Analyst or Data Systems Analyst in the banking or financial services domain.• Strong understanding of banking products and data structures (e.g., core banking systems, customer data, transaction data).• Proficient in SQL for data analysis, validation, and extraction across large datasets.• Proven experience in data mapping, data lineage documentation, and data transformation logic.• Skilled in requirements gathering, functional documentation, and communicating technical concepts to business users.• Ability to create system diagrams, data flow diagrams, and ER models using tools like Lucidchart, Visio, or similar.• Solid understanding of relational database concepts and experience with data modeling.• Experience working in Agile or Waterfall project environments.• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with core banking platforms or financial services.• Hands-on experience with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel for reporting is a plus.• Good to have Python and Teradata.
