Cybersecurity Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Execution

• Develop comprehensive project plans for cybersecurity initiatives, including scope, milestones, timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage day-to-day project activities and track progress using project management tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget.
• Experience managing enterprise security audits, penetration testing, or incident response programs.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of cloud security (GCP, Azure), DevSecOps, or Zero Trust architecture is a plus.
• Partner with technical teams to coordinate the implementation of security controls such as firewalls, SIEM, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, and identity & access management.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with internal teams (IT, Legal, Risk, Compliance) and external vendors to define project objectives and success criteria.
• Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings, provide status updates, and manage expectations and communications throughout the project lifecycle.
• Translate technical requirements into actionable project plans that align with business priorities.

Risk & Issue Management

• Proactively identify, track, and mitigate project risks and operational impacts.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and escalate issues as needed to ensure minimal disruption to security services.

Reporting & Governance

• Maintain accurate documentation of project artifacts, including project charters, RAID logs, change control, and post-project reviews.
• Provide executive-level reporting on status, milestones, financials, and strategic impacts.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years focused on cybersecurity or IT security programs.
• Strong understanding of information security principles, technologies, and best practices.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication, especially when dealing with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with shifting priorities.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, ServiceNow).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, and/or traditional Waterfall project methodologies
• Experience with benefit realization frameworks, financial governance, and KPI tracking.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification required, Agile or SAFe certifications a plus.
• Bachelors degree required; MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
