Key Responsibilities desired qualifications
The candidate should have experience in Data Protection and should have experience in Data Discovery, Data Classification and Data Leakage Prevention.
A. Data Discovery and Classification Solution
- Data Identification: Discovering and identifying sensitive data across various data sources, including databases, cloud storage, and file systems.
- Data Classification: Assigning labels or categories to data based on its sensitivity level, criticality, and regulatory requirements.
- Data Protection: Implementing security measures to protect classified data from unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure.
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to data protection regulations like GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
- Tool Implementation: Deploying and configuring data discovery and classification tools.
- Reporting and Documentation: Generating reports on data discovery and classification efforts, as well as maintaining documentation of data sources and their classification.
B. Data Leakage Prevention
- Design and Implement DLP Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain DLP policies across various channels like email, endpoints, cloud, and network.
- Monitor Data Transfers: Continuously monitor data movement, including email, file transfers, and network traffic, for potential leaks.
- Investigate and Respond to Incidents: Investigate DLP alerts, analyze policy violations, and take timely action to remediate incidents.
- Configure and Tune DLP Tools: Configure, manage, and fine-tune DLP solutions, including rule creation, policy tuning, and incident handling.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and generate reports on DLP incidents and risk trends.
- Tools: Experience with tools like Forcepoint, Varonis, Securiti.ai, BigID, Microsoft MIP Scanner etc.
- Data Access Governance: Understanding of data access controls and security best practices.
- Data Classification: Knowledge of various data types (PII, PCI, etc.) and classification standards.
- Data Security: Familiarity with data security concepts and data loss prevention (DLP).
- Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of data protection regulations and their implications.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in scripting (e.g., regular expressions), SQL, and data analysis.
