Help CricHeroes make the game fairer, one algorithm at a time. At CricHeroes, we strive to make grassroots cricket better. Every match, every performance, every wicket matters — and we’ve built the MVP (Most Valuable Player) algorithm to celebrate the unsung heroes of local cricket. But here’s the catch. Right now, our MVP algorithm, whose details you may find in here, gives almost equal weight to batting (43%) and bowling (36%) contributions in matches. In tournaments, batters and all-rounders dominate the top charts — while bowlers often go unnoticed. That doesn’t feel fair. We know cricket is more than numbers, but numbers can still tell better stories — if they’re told right. And that’s where you come in. Your challenge is to help us rethink and refine our MVP algorithm — to make it more balanced, more representative, and more true to the spirit of the game. We’re looking for someone who can help us in this project for a short term period. You’ll work closely with our product and data teams to: Study real match data from millions of games. Identify biases and gaps in the current MVP logic. Experiment with new statistical models or weights for performance metrics. Test, validate, and communicate your findings in a way everyone — not just data scientists — can understand. We don’t expect you to be a cricketer. But we do expect you to care about fairness , love clean data , and find joy in patterns that others miss. Why CricHeroes? We’re the world’s largest cricket network with 40+ million users. We’re building for the players who play for passion, for love of the game. And we’d love to have you help us tell their stories more accurately — through data that truly understands the game. If this challenge excites you, Do tell us, in your application, how you’d make the MVP algorithm fairer — we’d love to hear your ideas. Join our team and change the way cricket is played forever.
