Coupa Consultant || Business Analyst

This role would act as technical business analyst by leveraging in-depth technical understanding of the Coupa Platform (herein referred as platform”) and its integrations. The role would act as the technical SME of the platform and would be accountable for scaling/change/programme management by working with the necessary stakeholders.

Technical Ownership:

• Own and drive the overall Coupa technical solution design & implementation in alignment with the design decisions.
• Participate in design discussions and contribute towards decisions
• Own the full lifecycle of Coupa technical delivery—from concept to design to deployment and post-implementation stabilisation.
• Gather high level business requirements/information, perform analysis and define Coupa technology requirements, business rules and be able to design a solution based on completed analysis & support the development of technical solutions/changes to meet them.

Integration & Middleware Oversight:

• Manage mapping between legacy and target systems (Coupa), coordinating with middleware and interface teams to ensure proper handshake, orchestration and data flows.
• Define and validate integration points across systems, applications, and services.
• Oversee development and testing of APIs, messaging frameworks, error handling, push pull mechanism and data pipelines.

Data Migration Execution:

• Lead large-volume data migration activities, including mock runs, cutover rehearsal, and production go-live support.
• Ensure data cleansing, mapping rules, and exception handling are well-documented and implemented.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define data acceptance criteria and validation plans.

Delivery Management:

• Manage full lifecycle project delivery, including planning, execution, testing, and production rollout.
• Track dependencies, risks, and technical issues related to data migration and system integration.
• Coordinate across cross-functional teams—development, QA, infrastructure, DevOps, and data—to ensure aligned execution.

Stakeholder Management & Governance:

• Serve as the Coupa technical point of contact for business sponsors, vendors, and program leadership.
• Provide regular updates on migration and integration progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Enforce governance frameworks including design approvals, change control, and technical readiness checkpoints.

DevOps Skills

• Demonstrate strong knowledge about the Coupa platform and its integrations to provide guidance to team members on technology/domain/application queries
• Actively assess system enhancements and deploy them in accordance with the latest platform product release
• Identify process improvements and implement change with clear outcomes of improvement and standardisation
• Undertake diagnostic work to understand specific technical issues or problems in greater depth and reveal possible solutions.
• Demonstrate capability around issue resolutions across the platform and a strong network with the suppliers (Coupa & others), Middleware teams, Testing, ERP teams etc., to enable an efficient way of managing the platform
• Manage change management end to end
• Support Testing activities by triaging, scenario setting etc.,
• Deliver platform based projects so as to improve adoption of latest features
• Consistently promote integration of best practices and leading trends
• Coordinate and engage with key stakeholder groups across the business, Global and Local/BU functional teams and external providers
• Resolve issues partnering with technical, finance, procurement teams and vendors to implement change as required.
• Manage and document new functionalities of the platform releases/enhancements along with the impact assessment and share with the platform owners and controllers so as to bring awareness about new changes and its impacts/benefits to system behaviour and functionality
• Support growth to new markets/new entity integration with necessary project planning and delivery
• Take the lead during remediation of priority incidents (P1 & P2) and update all partners as appropriate in alignment with AstraZeneca’s priority communication process.
• Proactive in identifying areas for process improvement or finding opportunities for Automation
• Work within a DevOps culture and Agile Scrum methodology.
• Demonstrate strong networking, particularly across Middleware/ERP/SQ&T areas as the key to success will be the candidate’s ability to negotiate the internal world of AZ and leverage networks developed to deliver a change/project.
• Take lead on SOx Compliance documentation e.g. URS, RTM, RACM, Segregation of Duty matrix etc. And address SOx queries
• Engage with platform product owner and be seated at the weekly/monthly governance calls
• Send out daily/weekly progress reports

Essential Skills

• Coupa certified
• 10+ years of overall IT experience with strong background on Coupa Technical delivery roles, with proven experience in large-scale data migration and middleware integration.
• Experience with integration technologies such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Azure Integration Services, Kafka, or similar.
• Proficient in ETL tools and practices (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SQL-based scripting).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid integration strategies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in technical and data contexts.
• Ability to translate complex technical designs into business-aligned delivery outcomes.
• Leadership in cross-functional and cross-technology environments.
• Effective communicator capable of working with developers, data engineers, testers, and business stakeholders.
• Experienced with IT Service Management tools like ServiceNow & Jira
• Experience in managing and developing 3rd party business relationships
