Job Title: Core Technician (COTECH)

Industry: Automobile – Four Wheeler Workshop

Job Purpose:

The COTECH is the highest level of technical expert in the workshop, responsible for diagnosing complex vehicle problems, providing technical support to technicians, ensuring repair quality, and acting as the technical liaison between the workshop and OEM (Manufacturer).

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced diagnostics on vehicles using OEM-approved tools, equipment, and technical manuals.
• Support technicians in resolving difficult and complex technical issues.
• Ensure quality repair standards are followed in line with OEM guidelines.
• Conduct root cause analysis for repeat repairs and provide solutions.
• Maintain detailed technical reports and documentation of repairs.
• Coordinate with OEM technical support teams for unresolved issues.
• Train and guide junior technicians and service staff on advanced repair techniques.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
• Keep updated with the latest product updates, recalls, and service campaigns.
• Act as a technical authority in the workshop for customer escalations.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in four-wheeler vehicles.
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle electronics, engines, transmission, and advanced systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software, scanners, and service manuals.
• Ability to train and mentor other technicians.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and OEM representatives.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma / Degree in Automobile / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• OEM certification as COTECH / Master Technician (preferred).
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in a four-wheeler service workshop.
• Hands-on experience with modern vehicle diagnostic systems.

Salary Range:

Up to ₹40,000 (depending on experience and OEM certification).
