We are looking for a Cost Engineer to support solar EPC projects by preparing accurate project cost estimates, BOQs, and budgets, and by supporting tendering and execution teams with cost control and variance analysis
This role is critical for ensuring commercial viability, profitability, and execution discipline across residential, C&I, and MW-scale solar projects.
Prepare detailed BOQ s for:
Civil works (earthwork, foundations, structures)
Module mounting structures
Electrical works (DC, AC, HT/LT, evacuation)
Develop project cost estimates for rooftop, ground-mount, and utility-scale solar plants
Work closely with design & execution teams to validate quantities
Assist in tender costing and commercial bid preparation
Analyse tender BOQ s, specs, and special clauses
Support price bench marking and vendor comparisons
Track estimated vs actual costs
Highlight cost overruns, savings, and deviations
Support project-wise cost dashboards and MIS
Coordinate with:
Design engineers
Purchase & procurement team
Site engineers / project coordinators
Provide cost inputs during pre-execution planning
Required Skills & Qualifications
B.Tech / Diploma (EEE / Mechanical / Civil preferred)
15 years in solar EPC costing / estimation
BOQ preparation & quantity take-offs
Understanding of solar materials & execution scope
MS Excel (mandatory)
Exposure to tenders (SECI / State / PSU / Private)
Understanding of GST impact on project costing
