Costing Engineer

As a Costing Engineer at ACCORD AUTOCOMP PVT LTD, your role will involve specializing in precision cost estimation for products manufactured via pressing, fabrication, and powder coating processes. Your meticulous and analytical skills will be crucial in establishing and maintaining accurate standard costs, supporting pricing strategies, and driving profitability improvement across commodity lines. Key Responsibilities: - Develop detailed cost estimates for new products and engineering changes, analyzing raw materials (steel, aluminum), tooling, processing time (stamping/pressing, welding, bending), labor, overhead, and powder coating applications. - Work closely with the Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to understand manufacturing processes and time studies, ensuring cost models accurately reflect operational complexity and efficiency. - Establish and regularly review standard costs for all manufactured commodities, investigating and explaining significant variances between actual and standard costs. - Maintain the costing database and ERP system with current material prices, labor rates, and machine burden rates for pressing, welding, and powder coating operations. - Analyze product margins and support sales teams with data-driven recommendations for pricing strategies and make-or-buy decisions. - Identify cost-reduction opportunities by analyzing bills of material (BOMs), optimizing process routings, and evaluating alternative manufacturing methods. Qualifications: - DME/ BE (Mechanical), B.tech - 3+ years of experience in cost engineering within sheet metal manufacturing industry, preferably involving metal stamping/pressing, welding/fabrication, and surface finishing (powder coating) processes.
