As a Cost Estimation Engineer specializing in utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Prepare detailed cost estimates for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects. - Collaborate with Business Development, Engineering, and Project Management teams to ensure proposals are comprehensive, competitive, and aligned with client requirements. - Ensure timely receipt of technical inputs and BOQs from the design and engineering teams. - Study and analyze RFPs, technical specifications, drawings, site survey reports, and overall project scope. - Review and understand technical drawings, layouts, and system configurations related to Solar PV, BESS, and substations. - Send enquiries to suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants, and manage the receipt, evaluation, comparison, and analysis of quotations. - Develop accurate and competitive cost models for bids and project proposals. - Maintain and track historical cost data to enhance the accuracy of future estimates. - Conduct cost benchmarking and value engineering where applicable. - Stay updated on industry trends, market pricing, and emerging technologies in Solar PV and BESS. In terms of qualifications, you should possess: - A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Renewable Energy or related field). - Relevant experience in cost estimation, proposal engineering, or tendering for renewable energy projects. - Experience in international solar/BESS projects is considered an added advantage. Your technical skills and knowledge should include: - Strong understanding of utility-scale Solar PV and BESS systems. - Basic understanding of Substation SLDs and drawings. - Familiarity with BOQs, cost breakdown structures, and estimation tools. - Ability to interpret technical documents, specifications, and drawings. - Knowledge of international codes, standards, and pricing trends is preferred.
