Job Description

  • Conduct comprehensive spend analysis with suppliers to identify gaps between supplier pricing and should-cost models.
  • Collaborate with Commodity Managers to ensure cost optimization initiatives align with broader commodity strategies.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to identify opportunities for specification improvements that drive cost efficiency while maintaining product functionality and quality.
  • Evaluate supplier pricing structures and provide actionable insights for cost reduction.
  • Analyze product portfolios to eliminate unnecessary SKUs and identify opportunities for consolidation.
  • Leverage annual volume forecasts to negotiate improved pricing and capitalize on economies of scale.
  • Develop and maintain cost models and dashboards to monitor and report progress on cost reduction initiatives.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and alignment on cost optimization efforts.
  • Costing of sheetmetal, plastic, casting, machined commodities
  • Identifying the gaps in the costing from supplier, evaluate the costing, negotiate and align with supplier

What we look for

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering (B.E./B. Tech).
  • 810 years of proven experience in cost analysis, procurement, or engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes for sheet metal, plastic components, casting and machined parts
  • Experience in Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) processes.
  • Broad technical expertise in product development, manufacturing, cost analysis, and related areas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis software; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of should-cost analysis methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with commodity management strategies and supplier negotiations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on delivering results and achieving cost optimization objectives.

Preferred

  • Experience in HVAC, building technologies, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Understanding of product design and engineering processes.
