Project Overview:
Bechtel is seeking to expand its decades long relationship with Reliance by providing Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of existing petrochemical facilities in India. Reliance plans to augment its existing petrochemical facilities in Dahej, Gujarat, and Nagothane, Maharashtra, to expand its PVC capacity. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel s India offices. The positions on the project will start as assignment in Navi Mumbai, Dahej or Nagothane.
This position will start as an assignment in Mumbai, India (office) prior to the receipt of the full notice to proceed from the Owner and will eventually transition to the job site for the EPC execution of the project.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will support contractor s superintendents and/or craft professionals in the assigned area of the project. You will support craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure contractor s craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets.
Receives technical and operational guidance from assigned Area Construction Manager or other assigned supervising manager. Provides technical and administrative direction to contractors. - Jobsite contacts are with jobsite personnel including subcontractors/craft professionals and the customers resident engineering and operating personnel to coordinate construction activities.
Major Responsibilities:
Monitors and organizes subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractor s management staff within the area of responsibility. Monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements. Reviews subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements. Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules. Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management. Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals. Coordinates with engineering on constructability issues Education and Experience Requirements:
- A recognized degree in Electrical engineering or scientific discipline. Actual work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the technical knowledge described above.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Technical knowledge of all phases of Electrical construction activities relating to a single or multiple area including testing methods. Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration. Knowledge of Instrumentation engineering/construction activities is desirable. Knowledge of Indian standards and specification and codes as applicable, including various safety procedures and practices associated with the construction activities. Familiar with Bechtels Business Ethics handbook and policies. Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety Health (ESH) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility. Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements. Knowledge of Bechtels "Zero Accidents" safety program. Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/subcontractors responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
