COO - Head Operation

Our client a growing, multi-unit manufacturing organisation that has recently become a public listed company. The business is expanding capacity and strengthening processes across plants. The COO will oversee day-to-day operations and support the next phase of growth. The COO will manage plant operations, supply chain, quality, maintenance and execution. The role reports to the promoter and works with unit heads and functional teams.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Process manufacturing sectors: metals, chemicals, auto components, flexible packaging, FMCG manufacturing.
2. Paper, pulp, corrugation (helpful but not required).
3. Large multi-plant industrial operations.

Education

• BE / B.Tech preferred.
• MBA/PGDM from leading institutions is an added advantage (IIMs, XLRI, ISB, JBIMS, SPJIMR, MDI).

Role & responsibilities

Operations

• Manage day-to-day plant operations.
• Monitor production, quality, safety and compliance.
• Maintain equipment uptime and utilities.
• Implement standard operating processes across units.

Planning & Capacity

• Translate business plans into operational actions.
• Support capacity expansion and new projects.
• Review throughput, downtime and resource requirements.

Supply Chain

• Oversee procurement operations, inbound logistics and warehouse activities.
• Coordinate with Sales for demand and production planning.
• Maintain inventory levels and material flow.

Quality & Service

• Ensure adherence to quality systems.
• Address major customer issues related to operations.
• Track service levels and delivery performance.

People

• Lead plant heads and operations teams.
• Define KPIs and review performance periodically.
• Build capability and support training across units.

Systems & Reporting

• Use ERP/MIS for production, inventory, maintenance and operational reporting.
• Track key operational metrics and submit monthly updates.

Ensure statutory and safety compliance in all plants.

Education

• BE / B.Tech preferred.
• MBA/PGDM from leading institutions is an added advantage (IIMs, XLRI, ISB, JBIMS, SPJIMR, MDI).

Good experience on Imports & Exports and its compliances & subsidies 0ffered.
