Controller - Operations

As a Finance professional in the Manufacturing Finance department, your role is crucial in ensuring adequate control at the site in coordination with Site finance leadership. You will play a significant part in the Monthly/Quarterly/ Half yearly/ Annual closing procedures, ensuring timelines are met as per corporate standards for Manufacturing locations. Your responsibilities will include working closely with the internal Audit team to address control weaknesses, maintaining accounting hygiene, reviewing Capital Work in progress, advances, Debtors, and highlighting risks of impairment or write-offs for corrective actions. Key Responsibilities: - Review System and Organisation Controls (SOC) periodically - Monitor and review existing internal and system controls regularly - Design, implement, and maintain new controls/processes for improved Financial Control - Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting hygiene - Coordinate with Internal Audit and take corrective actions on findings - Adhere to the company's controls at Manufacturing locations - Monitor and ensure adherence to Delegation of Authority (DOA) in defined areas - Conduct monthly site visits to review processes and controls - Coordinate with Statutory and Tax Auditor for various requirements Additional Company Details: - Your role will involve managing effective Business Partnering to ensure adequacy and effectiveness of controls related to financial statements - You will be responsible for consolidating and submitting Financial schedules for corporates and Auditors - Monitoring and ensuring timely completion of activities related to financial closing activities - Partnering with multi-functional teams to build controls and enhance control effectiveness - Monitoring of CSR and Corporate Environment Responsibility spend through Cipla Foundation Qualifications Required: - CA / MBA from top institutes with 8-10 years of post-qualification experience Relevant Work Experience: - 2-3 years in Manufacturing finance roles - 2-3 years in India finance roles or supply chain roles - Practical knowledge of Ind AS - Financial and data analysis skills, Team and stakeholder management, decision-making skills, and knowledge of MS Office. In this role, you will face challenges such as managing and dealing with multiple stakeholders, which can be overcome by maintaining monthly connects with the multi-functional team and monitoring open Advances. Additionally, you may encounter unplanned details requested from Auditors, corporate, and cross-functional teams, which can be addressed by keeping past experience data ready and discussing requirements in kick-off meetings. Managing a large number of service vendors of manufacturing sites can be streamlined through service codification and harmonization of rate contracts. Interacting with external stakeholders with varied interests can be managed by developing partnerships with key partners and stakeholders. Key Interactions: INTERNAL - Operation Finance head - Corporate Accounting team - Internal Audit Team - Legal Team - Procurement Team - Company secretarial team - Site and Central Engineering team EXTERNAL - Other Consultants - In-licensing / Third-Party Vendor - External Auditor Key Decisions: - Adequacy and effectiveness of prevailing internal controls - Risk assessment with respect to Advances - Approval of capex projects - Codification of services for rate comparison - Decisions related to finalization of new contractor introduction Recommendations: - Aligning new controls with Internal Audit and approved by GCFO - Securing advances and ensuring advances are paid only for key requirements - Proper project planning to avoid risks of obsolescence and impairment - Realignment on supply chain and Central engineering team Overall, your role as a Finance professional in Manufacturing Finance will require you to ensure strong financial controls, effective business partnering, and timely financial reporting while overcoming various challenges and making key decisions and recommendations to drive the organization's financial success.,
